Frequently Asked Questions

Anchor Concierge gets many of the same questions from seniors and families in Pinellas County. Here are straight answers, with links to more detail.

Questions and answers

What does a senior concierge do?
A senior concierge takes care of practical, non-medical tasks so an older adult can keep living at home: grocery shopping, prescription pickup, errands, company at appointments, check-in visits, tech help and light organizing. Read the full guide.
Are you a home health aide?
No. Gina is a Florida LPN, licensed since 2013, but Anchor Concierge visits are non-medical and non-hands-on. She does not bathe, dress, help with toileting or give medications. How concierge help compares with home care.
Can you work alongside a home care agency?
Yes. Some families have an agency cover personal care while Gina handles groceries, pharmacy runs, appointments and visits. The two services cover different needs.
Which areas of Pinellas County do you serve?
St. Petersburg plus Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, Pinellas Park, Gulfport, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor and the Pinellas beaches. See the service areas.
How does pricing work?
Occasional visits are $120 for a two-hour minimum and $60 for each additional hour. Memberships are $460 a month for 8 hours, $660 for 12 hours or $1,050 for 20 hours. Full pricing.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. You can book one visit, set up weekly help or choose a membership, and change your plan as needs change.
What happens on a check-in visit?
Conversation and company, a quick look to make sure the home is safe, help with small tasks that have come up, and an update to the family afterward. About check-in visits.
Can you go with my parent to medical appointments?
Yes. Gina can go along to doctor, specialist and lab visits, take notes if your parent wants, and send the family a summary. She does not give medical advice. Medical appointment accompaniment.
Can you do the grocery shopping?
Yes. Gina helps write the list, shops your parent's preferred store and brands, and puts everything away afterward. Grocery shopping help.
Do you pick up prescriptions?
Yes, from any local pharmacy, and often on the same trip as groceries. Gina picks up and delivers medications but does not manage or give them. Prescription pickup.
Can you help after a surgery or hospital stay?
Yes, with the practical side: groceries, refills, company at follow-up visits, check-ins and errands for a few weeks. Hands-on care during recovery comes from a home care agency. Help after surgery.
I live out of state. Can you be our local contact?
Yes. Many families live outside Florida. Gina visits, runs errands, attends appointments and keeps you updated. Support for families out of state.
Do you check on homes while snowbirds are away?
Yes. Gina offers regular home checks while owners are out of town for the season. Snowbird home checks.
Do you speak German?
Yes. Gina speaks English and German and uses whichever is more comfortable for your parent or family.
What if my parent does not want help?
That is very common. Starting with one small, practical service, like a weekly grocery run, usually goes better than a big plan. How to talk about accepting help.
Is Anchor Concierge covered by Medicare?
Generally no. Concierge help is private pay. If your parent has long-term care insurance, read the policy, since some cover non-medical support. What in-home help costs.
