For families watching from a distance
Safety Harbor is a small town on the west shore of Tampa Bay. If your parent lives there and you have moved away, to Atlanta, Chicago or even Germany, the phone calls home can start to raise questions. Is Dad eating? Did Mom make it to the cardiologist? Who is there if the AC dies in August?
Anchor Concierge answers those questions with one person on the ground. Gina visits, helps, and tells you what she saw. Help for aging parents covers how that works for families, and the senior concierge services page lists every kind of help she offers.
What a visit can include
A regular check-in visit is the usual starting point. Gina spends time with your parent, takes a look around the house for anything that seems unsafe, helps with small quick tasks and sends an update afterward. Other help fits on the same visit:
- A pickup from your parent’s pharmacy through prescription pickup. Gina collects and delivers; she does not sort or give medications.
- A short home organization session: the mail pile, the hall closet, the paperwork that keeps getting moved around.
- Groceries, returns or a trip to the post office.
Gina speaks English and German, which helps when part of the family lives in a German-speaking country or a parent feels more at ease in German.
Keeping the house running
Every house needs repairs sooner or later, and service companies often give a wide arrival window. Gina can wait at the house for the repair technician, let them in, stay through the job and report back. Your parent does not have to sit by the door all afternoon, and does not have to deal with a stranger alone.
When there is a hospital visit
Mease Countryside Hospital, part of BayCare, sits on McMullen Booth Road inside Safety Harbor. When your parent has an appointment or a procedure there, Gina can come along through medical appointment accompaniment, write down what the doctors say and pass the notes along to the family afterward. As always, she is a companion, not a nurse, and personal care and medications stay with the family or the care team.
The places your parent loves
Safety Harbor has deep roots. It was settled in 1823, and the Espiritu Santo Springs, named by Hernando de Soto in 1539, are under the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. Philippe Park, run by Pinellas County, holds a Tocobaga temple mound that is a National Historic Landmark. The Safety Harbor Public Library on 2nd Avenue North, founded in 1938, opened its current building in 1994. When daily chores are handled, there is more time for a walk in Philippe Park or an afternoon at the library.
If more help is needed
Sometimes a visit shows that a parent needs more than a concierge can give, such as hands-on personal care or a meal program. Gina will tell you plainly and can point you toward local senior care resources, including the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, which runs a helpline and caregiver support for Pinellas families. You stay in charge of the decision. She simply makes sure you have the information.
Talk it through first
Help starts at $120 for a two-hour minimum and $60 for each extra hour, and there is no long-term contract. You can book the free 20-minute consultation yourself, by phone or in person, even if you are calling from out of state. Gina will talk with you and your parent and suggest a plan.
